Article 1 - DEFINITIONS

| 1.1. |
"AGREED STOPPING PLACES" means those places, except the place of departure and the place of destination, set out in the Air Waybill or shown in Carrier’s timetables as scheduled stopping places on the route on which the Cargo is being transported. |

"AIRLINE DESIGNATOR CODE" means the two or three characters which identify particular air carriers.. |
| |
| 1.3. |
“AUTHORISED AGENT”, except when the context otherwise requires, means a Cargo sales agent who has been appointed by the Carrier to represent the Carrier in the sale of Cargo transportation by air on the Carrier’s services. |

| 1.4. |
“AIR WAYBILL” means any document, including any electronic document (which is non-negotiable) made out by or on behalf of the Shipper, which evidences the contract between the Shipper and Carrier of cargo. |

| 1.5. |
“CARGO” (which is equivalent to the term “Goods”) means anything carried or to be carried in an aircraft or by other means of transportation except mail, or baggage carried under a passenger ticket and baggage check, and includes any item moving under an Air Waybill or Shipment Record. |

| 1.6. |
“CARRIAGE” (which is equivalent to the term “transportation”) means the carriage of cargo by air or by any other means of transportation whether gratuitously or for reward. |

| 1.7. |
“CARRIER” includes the air carrier designated in the Air Waybill or the Shipment Record, and all carriers that carry or undertake to carry the Cargo or to perform any other services related to such Carriage. |

| 1.8. |
“CHARGES COLLECT” mean the charges entered on the Air Waybill or Shipment Record for collection from the Consignee against delivery of the Shipment. |

| 1.9. |
“CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE” mean these Conditions of Carriage for Cargo. |
| |
| 1.10. |
“CONSIGNEE” means that entity (including but not limited to individuals and corporations) whose name appears on the Air Waybill or Shipment Record, as the party to whom the Shipment is to be delivered by Carrier. |

| 1.11. |
"CONVENTION" means whichever of the following instruments are applicable: |

The Warsaw Convention as amended by Additional Protocol No. 1 of Montreal (1975); |

| |

| 1.12. |
“CUSTOMS CLEARANCE AGENT” means a customs broker or other agent of the Consignee/ Shipper designated to perform customs clearance services. |

| 1.13. |
'“DAYS” mean calendar days, including all seven days of the week; provided that for purposes of notification the day upon which the notice is despatched shall not be counted. |

| 1.14. |
“DELIVERY SERVICE” means the surface Carriage of inbound Shipments from the airport of destination to the address of the Consignee or that of his designated agent or to the custody of the appropriate government agency when required, including any incidental surface carriage between airports. |

| 1.15. |
“PICK-UP SERVICE” means the surface Carriage of outbound Shipments from the point of pick-up at the address of the Shipper or that of his designated agent to the airport of departure. |

| 1.16. |
“SHIPMENT” (which is equivalent to the term “Consignment”) except as otherwise provided herein, means one or more packages, or pieces of Cargo accepted by Carrier from one Shipper at one address receipted for in one lot and under a single Air Waybill, for Carriage to one Consignee at one destination address. |

| 1.17. |
“SHIPMENT RECORD” means any record of Carriage evidenced by means other than an Air Waybill. |
| |
|
| 1.18. |
“SHIPPER” (which is equivalent to the term “Consignor”) means the entity (including but not limited to individuals and corporations) whose name appears on the Air Waybill or Shipment Record, as the party contracting with Carrier for the Carriage of Cargo. |

| 1.19. |
“SPECIAL DRAWING RIGHTS” are an international unit of account, defined by the International Monetary Fund, based upon the values of several leading currencies. The currency values of the Special Drawing Right fluctuate and are re-calculated each banking day. These values are known to most commercial bankers and are reported regularly in leading financial journals. |

1.20. |
"TARIFFS" means Carrier’s published rates, charges, tariffs and/or related conditions of carriage filed, where required, with the appropriate authorities. |
