Inward cargo is stored separately - area space is around 8500 Sq Mt.
Acceptance and building up of export cargo is done at the export building.
Cold storage: large consignments can be accepted.
Maximum capacity: freezer room 78 m3 & cold room 65 m3.
Area : freezer room 35 m2 & cold room 29m2 
For unitized cargo -
Capacity : freezer room 66m3 & cold room 112m3.
Area : freezer room 26m2 & cold room 48m2.
Temperature range : freezer room 0ºC to - 30ºC & cold room 0ºC to +10ºC

Clearance

a).Collection of documents is from the respective airline’s town office. However consignees could collect their documents for clearing of urgent shipments from airline concerned on arrival of flights at the cargo terminal Bandaranaike International Airport.

b).Consolidated shipments containing personal effects should be cleared by the agent at the airport who should ensure transfers to the customs warehouse in town.

c).Collection of documents for personal effects cargo is from the respective airline’s nominated custom bonded warehouse.

Customs Hours

Monday through Friday 09.00 - 16.15 hrs & Saturday from 0900 - 1300 hrs. Clearance outside customs hours possible against payment of overtime fee as well as depending on the contents of the cargo.
