Super offers from Srilankan in May and June

Skywards has two attractive promotions on SriLankan Airlines for its members in May and June 2004.

Using the innovative Cash + Miles offer, Skywards is offering a super deal from Colombo to Europe on SriLankan. For just LKR 55,000 + 10,000 Miles visit any of these four major European cities - London, Paris, Frankfurt or Zurich. A member can also nominate any number of persons for this offer, so that, for example, a whole family can travel on holiday. Alternatively, even if a member does not wish to take up this offer, his nominees may do so.

This offer is valid for travel between 1 May and 30 June. Bookings can be done from 1 April 2004. The maximum validity of a ticket will be 30 days from date of departure; however, the return journey must be completed before 30 June 2004.

Early summer is undoubtedly the best time to see Europe. You can browse the museums and galleries at leisure ahead of the peak season crowds. Café society moves outdoors making people watching a favoured activity along the boulevards and courtyards of the big cities. The festival season is in full swing with concerts, fairs and shows to suit all tastes and budgets. National parks and scenic attractions blossom in the warmer weather. And the long nights of winter give way to balmy summer evenings allowing you to make the most of your holiday.

Says Mahila Jesuthasan Manager Skywards at SriLankan: “This offer is an ideal opportunity to use up one’s Skywards Miles that are due to expire on 31 March and /or 30 September, 2004. “

“This is a fantastic offer for travel to Europe for it is really affordable,” says SriLankan’s Manager Sri Lanka Ranil Wagiswara. “It is also a value-for-Miles deal for our Skywards members in the island. I’m sure many will take up this offer.”

Equally exciting is the Double Miles offer from 1 May to 10 June 2004, for travel on Business Class on most of SriLankan’s routes. Say for example, on a Colombo/Hong Kong return journey, a member is entitled to 7,528 Miles on Business Class; during this promotion he/she will get 15,056 Miles. With just 10,000 Miles, a member is entitled to a free return ticket to the Maldives or to any point in South India.

Business Class on SriLankan’s Airbus A330s and most A340s is superior to that on many other airlines. Seats are placed two abreast so that every passenger gets a window or aisle, a feature on First Class in most other carriers. You have in-seat TVs with 18 channels of video entertainment, 16 video games and 22 channels of audio entertainment. What’s more, every seat has its own video player so you can watch the movie of your choice - choose from a range of 34 titles on board.

Skywards is the frequent flyer programme of SriLankan Airlines and Emirates. Just three years after inception, Skywards in 2003, won a host of Freddie awards, including Programme of the Year. (Freddies are the frequent flyer programmes’ equivalent of the Oscars). Skywards has three tiers - Blue, Silver and Gold. Leading airlines like Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, British Airways, South African Airways, Delta, Continental and United Airlines are partners of the programme, as are leading hotel chains and several world-class financial, rent-a-car, leisure and lifestyle partners.

Skywards members can contact the nearest SriLankan Airlines ticket office or the Skywards Service Centre in Colombo on 019733 3333 to join Skywards or for more details
